HOW IT WORKS
Initially, we work closely with each client to identify a parcel of whisky casks that best meets their individual objectives and requirements.
Once selected, the casks are purchased on the client's behalf and are securely stored in HMRC-compliant bonded warehouses in Scotland. Every cask is independently recorded within the warehouse management system, providing clear verification of ownership, provenance and authenticity.
At the time of acquisition, Ditari Lente charges a modest, pre-agreed sourcing and administration fee. This covers the identification of suitable casks, commercial due diligence, stock verification, documentation and the ongoing administration associated with cask ownership.
Throughout the period of ownership, the spirit continues to mature under bond while Ditari Lente manages the associated administration on the client's behalf. We oversee warehouse liaison, ownership records, documentation and the practical aspects of cask management, drawing on decades of experience in the international spirits industry.
Should a client decide to sell their casks, Ditari Lente can assist by introducing potential purchasers through our extensive international network and by managing the sales process from start to finish. We charge an agreed success-based commission only when a sale is completed, ensuring our interests remain aligned with those of our clients.

To simplify ownership costs, an amount equivalent to five years of estimated storage and insurance costs is retained at the outset of the investment. During this initial five-year period, participants are not expected to make additional payments for storage or insurance. If a cask is sold before the end of the five-year period, any unused portion of this reserve is returned to the participant as part of the final settlement. If ownership continues beyond five years, ongoing storage and insurance costs will apply based on prevailing bonded warehouse rates at that time.
